Well HM fam…after 3 plus years (I’ve kinda lost count), probably about 1500 posts and close to 3 million hits…the time as come for me to say goodbye to Honorable Media. Over the past several months things have picked up so much in my life (mainly work) that I just don’t have the time to maintain HM to the standards you all have grown accustomed to. So instead of falling off totally and doing a half ass job I’m going to bow out now. Of course with every ending there is a new beginning…and for me that is askreecie.com. I’m starting my own site from scratch to better represent where I’m at in life now. I don’t want to be relegated to just talking music videos and leaked music…so my site will cover just about everything…current events, politics, gossip, movies, tv, of course music….and just life in general. So…if you have enjoyed my colorful commentary over the past few years then feel free to check me out at my new site. You will definitely see a different side of me and I will have a whoooole lot more to say.

I want to thank you all for your continued support and love for HM. Without you all this site wouldn’t be what it is and I wouldn’t have been able to keep the motivation to keep it going this long. I have to shout out Thesis for holding it down as long as he did and always injecting the unexpected in the site. But most importantly I have to thank The Honorable who gave me the opportunity to take his site and run with it. I’ve enjoyed every moment of being a writer at HM and I’m happy to report that The Honorable is going to be giving it new life and reinventing it at music.hm.com. I don’t know the exact date but definitely be on the lookout for it because it’s gonna be hot! Nobody does music commentary like the honorable and I hope I have done his site justice.
So…I guess this is goodbye. It’s been fun, it’s been real…and for those of you who will be checking out my new site…see you soon.

Drake has a verse/song that hit the net called “Paris Morton Music” that was rejected from Rick Ross’ song “Ashton Martin Music”. The lyrics are along the same preditcable notes Drake usually hits…talking about lost love, girls he did wrong, and how many hoes he is currently sexing. Despite Drake’s consistently redundant material I cannot deny that this song is pretty good. The production is hot and Drake’s delivery hits the right pitch. Also to Drake’s credit his story telling is always interesting even if the moral is still the same. Click here to listen

Usher has a new video for his song “There Goes My Baby”. This video is soooooooo melodramatic. Some of Usher’s mannerisms border on corny to me, BUT with that said he manages to be sexy more than corny. I have to say the video is compelling and Usher really gives off the feeling of being enthralled and totally into his leading lady.  The way he looks at her, pulls her closer, and even does a pull up to a second story just to kiss her keeps the video entertaining and the viewer engaged. I like the song and I like the video. Usher’s album has been a huge success so far so this video will only add to it.

What do you guys think of the video? Do you think Usher goes overboard with the melodrama so far or does he hit just the right notes?

Rick Ross has a new song called “Free Mason” featuring Jay-Z and John Legend. You gotta give it to Ross he keeps putting out some pretty hot music consistently. He didn’t let the beef with 50 distract too much from his music and at the end of it he came out on top because he keeps coming with hits. I’m sure all of the people who believe the Illuminati rumors will take an interest in Jay-Z’s verse…He tackles the devil worshiping rumors that have plagued him recently and I think that should effectively squash it. However, in the gossip driven culture we live in it could just be one of those that never die. Anyway…hot song and has the right ingredients to generate a lot of  buzz. Click here to listen

Hey ya’ll! Sorry I’ve been M.I.A. (once again) but I took a much needed vacay to Jamaica with a brief cameo in Miami and then was totally swamped at work. I also had to get a new laptop since my piece of sh!t Gateway finally crapped out. Anyway…this is the first time I’ve had the chance to sit down and see what music hit the net in the past week and I’m happy to see what my favorite song from Corrine Baily Rae’s album has a new video for it. Corrinne always keeps it subtle and simple, yet she still manages to be compelling at the same time. The song is so sultry and laid back and the video perfectly captures that. It’s sexy in an effortless and not in your face type of way. I think there is something to be said for someone who manages a certain mystique to contrast with so many of the artists (even some of my favs) who just put it all (tits, ass, legs, crotch, etc.) out there. Love the video and love the song…this definitely gets my thumbs up.

Andre 3000 has a new song called “All Together Now”. You gotta love Andre for his quirky style and his willingness to always step outside the box and expand on the notion of what it is to be a Hip Hop artist. The song is very fun and upbeat which is refreshing and right on time for summer. I’m not sure what this song is for and I’m sure someone would quickly correct me if I even ventured a guess but I will just say I’m digging this. Click here to listen

AOL has the full album preview of Dwele’s new album “W.ants, W.orld, W.omen”. I love Dwele and have been a huuuge fan of his since his first album so I’m always happy to hear new music from him. I probably won’t have time to write up a review of the album since I’m taking a much needed vacation but I definitely plan on having this on my ipod before I leave. Young Jeezy has a remix to his song “Lose My Mind” featuring Drake. The original might just be one of the hottest songs this year so it makes perfect sense to put one of the biggest stars on the remix. I’m juiced that Drake is on the remix however I will say that his verse doesn’t match the intensity of Jeezy at all and his lyrics are a little weak. Drake’s verse definitely sounded a lot better at the BET Awards versus on the recorded version…but if I drop my critic hat I’ll say that this is still hot. Not quite an upgrade from the original though. Click here to listen

Soulja Boy has a new video for his song “Pretty Boy Swag”. I don’t normally post a lot of Soulja Boy’s music..and five seconds into watching the video I was going to turn it off until I realized that this is the song that everybody goes crazy for in the clubs. I’m not jocking it that much, but it’s still a very catchy song so I figure I’ll give the video a chance. The video is a typical rap video BUT I will give Soulja Boy credit for making something that doesn’t look at all bootleg. This actually looks like something Fabolous would do so for Soulja Boy that is an upgrade.

DJ Khaled has a new video for his song “All I Do Is Win Remix” featuring T-Pain, Rick Ross (of course), Busta Rhymes, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, and Diddy. I don’t know who is the worse rapper- DJ Khaled or Diddy…but I do know they both suck. (Sidebar: Fabolous has one of the hottest verses on the song so it’s a little strange that they excluded him from the BET Awards performance.) Anyway…there really isn’t anything special about the video but there is always something kinda cool about getting a bunch of Hip Hop stars in a room to shoot a video. I’m not a big fan of the song to begin with and having 10 people on it doesn’t change my opinion.
