Trey Songz – One Love

Trey Songz has a new video for his song “One Love”. I find it a bit humorous that he takes one of the few songs he has that’s not about sex and makes half the video all about his body. It seems like he has the sex symbol thing figured out, but not quite the love part. It’s kinda cool that he at least attempted to have some sort of concept behind the video with the whole photo album aspect. However, normally people do the photo collage theme when they are actually going different places and doing different things, not to toggle between two different very basic sets. After the first 2 minutes it gets very monotonous. However, with all that said, he is still Trey Songz and the fact of the matter is that most of his fans are perfectly content with him just standing there looking hot.

What do you guys think of the video? Do you think he should’ve done a plot that actually involved a love story for this or do his fans really just want to see him?

I’m a fan of this song and have grown to like Trey as an artist but when I saw this video I thought the exact same thing. Having pictures that focused mostly on his body took away from what would have been a cool video concept.

  1. This is my favorite song off the album..and I appreciate his attempt at creating an intimate video, but they could’ve actually used real backstage footage.

I agree that going back and forth between two scenes was pretty monotonous. He could’ve kept the live performance scene and added real actual backstage footage, that focused less on his body.
