Listen: Alicia Keys- Put It In A Love Song featuring Beyonce

Alicia Keys has a new song called “Put It In A Love song” featuring Beyonce. Alicia Keys definitely molded her sound to fit in more Beyonce’s sound and I’m on the fence about how I feel about this song. The energy of the song feels so forced and they are practically screaming the lyrics. I think the song would’ve been a lot better if they went for a softer sound and vibe. Perhaps this will grown on me, but as of now I’m just not feeling it. For these two powerhouses to come together I was expecting something epic, but instead I think they came with some very contrived and unoriginal. I guess they were going for another “Single Ladies” type of song but this fails miserably at coming close. With that said…it is a merging of two big R&B fan bases so I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a hit. Nonetheless…womp womp. Click here to listen
What do you guys think of the song? Who do you think stole the show? Should they have done something more in Alicia Keys’ lane or does the Beyonce lane work out better for the both of them?

I don’t know why, but for some reason when I saw your post on a Alicia Keys and Beyonce song I expected it to be a big epic, soulful power ballard. Obviously vocally Beyonce and Alicia Keys can pull off any genre of music. Anything Beyonce and Alicia Keys does I will like.
I thought it would be epic, then I read your post Reecie, and I thought is was gonna suck completely but, it is pretty good. The song doesn’t annoy me. I wouldn’t change the station if I heard this.
Why does every Beyonce collabo lately have something to do with a phone? lol.
Soda it doesn’t completely suck I just don’t like it how I thought I would. It’s a mediocre song that really doesn’t fit Alicia Keys so I think they could’ve done a lot better. However I can see why some people will like it. Like I said, maybe it will grow on me.
Meh…Its good. Its alright. Honestly, when I got done listening to it I just didnt have anything to say. It didnt leave the lasting impression that I would hope/expect from these two women.
The song definitely has a Single Ladies vibe and it doesn’t suit Alicia at all, so for the question ‘who stole the show?’ Beyonce did, hands down. As soon as I saw Alicia featuring Beyonce’ I was expecting something raw, a really solid R&B joint. This was a bit of a let down. With a few more listens, after the disappointment wears off, it can be fun, I guess.
Alicia was always successful but, seem like she wants more pop appeal for some reason. They could have dones a better song than this together, I see what you’re saying though, Reecie.
Daydream…you’re probably right…after several listens (if I ever hear the song that many times) it will likely sound better.
Soda…i agree with you. It seems like Alicia is really trying hard to get a hit And the results is a much less cohesive and soulfull album than her last one.
Katherine I think eveyone was expecting something different than what they put out.
Reecie, did you here the Alicia feat. Drake track?
i don’t know what yall are talking about the song isn’t that bad; the beat is awful, and the lyrics were corny
soda, that other song is so much better though. still not vintage alicia, but it’ll do

I agree with 901 and Reecie’s “they are practically screaming…” Beyonce’s voice is far too powerful for this collaboration, too. Big thumbs down.
love the song girl
Quite interesting, well I just wanted some songs and got your blog. Thanks for this one mate
I just loved it. An additional comment or feedback which I would like to give is that this theme is quite boring and you need to work on it but everything else I fine.
