Last night Maxwell walked away with 6 Grammy nominations and performed a tribute to Michael Jackson in their live concert special. He did a beautiful rendition of “Lady of My Life” (faaar better than Ciara at the BET Awards) and did MJ justice. Check out his performance and share your thoughts.

What do you think about this version compared to the one Neyo did? Did you see that performance where Stevie Wondr broke down? It was pretty sad.
I’ve been thinking about picking up tMaxwell album. I think you gave his album a good review despite being mad at him.
Maxwell did a great job. I think his rendition was great. I also think Jamie and Ne-yo did a good job.
I forgot about Ne-Yo’s version…I think he did a great job singing the song as well. I didn’t watch the Stevie Wonder performance though…I didn’t want to see him breaking down.

This fits Maxwell, which makes the rendition perfect. I actually heard more of the song listening to Maxwell. This was nice.
Maxwell did a GREAT job and so did Ne-yo.
PS; And am starting to get MAD at Kanye because now i have to sit down here and hear them praise Taylor Swift ” as if she could ever be that great of an artist” smp> I liked her before but now she is starting to geton my nerves. She is Nothing compared to Beyonce or Rihanna. And i do not think that she deserved as many nominations as she got. Beyonce deserves to win them ALL over her and Gaga because compared to them, Beyonce is WAYYYY better than them. The ONLY reason why Taylor was nominated for so many awards in the first place is because of the ” kanye incident”….Kanye dissing “the poor little white girl”…sm !!! What Kanye did wasn’t the end of the world. But unfortunately for him, he is black and she is white!!!

and do u know when that Obsessed movie starring Beyonce is supposed to come out? i really enjoyed the first one.
JW- Taylor Swift really needs to cut Kanye West a commission check because he did more for her career in 20 seconds than any manager or publicist could’ve done. Does she deserve all the praise? Absolutely not…but they are going to make an example of her. That’s definitely the beauty of being a White woman…America is going to rally behind you when you are unfairly attacked. On the other hand when you are a Black woman like Rihanna…..then you can expect a backlash for being a victim.
But anyway…I heard Rihanna was gonna be on SNL but not sure when. I have no idea when the Obsessed sequel will be coming out. I don’t think she has even taking a break from promoting her album and touring long enough to shoot it so I doubt they even started production.

Am still wondering how that 80 year old granny fr England sold so many records>>> am beginning to think that her promoters bought most of them and shipped them to England. Thus enabling her to have so much record sales in this country. Don’t get me wrong, she can sing but who in their right minds would rush to go out and buy an album like that?!
As for “gaydar” Adam who the heck is it or he or she or whatever he is, now how the heck did he sell more that Riri or even Gaga for that matter?! smp…..i guess the gay community really supported him BIG TIME after they viewed his HORRIFIC performance at the AMA…prob bought the album hoping that that would land them a chance with him, if u get my drift>>>
on a more somewhat pleasant note, Riri did an interview on Big Boi and she tlkd about the backlash etc,,and she put Tiffany Evans on blast for tlkn crap about her. Hope u get a chance to listen to it. She sounds so much happier since she dumped that looser!!!
I found the billboard result interesting. Rihanna had so much attention and three hot singles out. Adam got so much attention from his AMA performance, but in the end Susan B clobber those two. I guess it’s nice to see someone with a voice like Susan do so well in record sales. I’m kind of reminded of that article Reecie did of Ciara gotten beat by that other singer.
Stallion…Susan Boyle had more than her fair share of hype as well. She wasn’t some come from behind underdog, if anything she was the overwhelming favorite. Her album had been topping the presales for months, she received consistent high profile and international attention from being on Britian’s Got Talent (or whatever that show is called)….so if anything she definitely had the upper-hand over Rihanna. The same can be said for Adam Lambert who was on American Idol for months and received constant attention. Also the extra controversy from his AMA performance helped push him over the top.
Lastly…it’s been proven time and time again…old people buy albums! That’s why acts like Barbara Streisand, U2, Andrea Bocelli will always outsell younger artists.
@JW man I am so glad someone finally pointed out the truth about this switfboating thing. It’s hard to believe Kanye’s snubbing and I’m not even that big a fan . smh

@stall, if anything Susan had more publicity than all the other artists put together. She will sell but she will NEVER reach the status of Rihanna, Whitney, MJ or even Beyonce. I think she’s get ALL this attention because people fell SORRY for her. Yes she can sing but ‘OPERA’….come on, who is really going to go out and buy what she sings>>> OLD PEOPLE!!!
