Listen: Usher- The Realest One

Usher has a new song called “The Realest One”. I’m going to be honest, I almost didn’t even click on this song, because I had given up on the thought that Usher would come out with anything not wack. I haven’t been feeling anything he has put out at all…but then this song came along and brought me some hope that maybe Usher hasn’t fallen off. I’m really feeling this track. Finally he has come out with a R&B track that is adult without being corny, whiny, or too contrived. This is a sweet, positive, semi-love song and I’m digging that. Not everything has to be tabloidy or sexual…sometimes it good to have a good ol’ R&B mid-tempo relationship anthem track. I hope that more of Usher’s new album is along these lines rather than everything else that has leaked. Usher really needs to stick with Jermaine Dupri producing his tracks if he wants to get back on the level of Confessions. Click here to listen

What do you guys think of this song? How does this rate compared to the other songs you’ve heard from Usher’s new album?

  1. A-Yo! Reecie, you got a nice blog goin here and I really like to read your views on new music BUT a fcukin BIG WTF? as a new visitor, I’d really like to explore more of your blog but I don’t see any archives section, no fcukin Search Bar for specific … search. WTF? with that????

*double check to make sure there is no Search & Archives*

It makes no sense to me, and what amazes me most that you have a healthy amount of visitors dropping comments (lucky you) but it seems none of them doesn’t wanna see you take it to the next level WTF???

Sorry for me being such a fcuktard, but its literally hurting me cos I do LOVE your blog but you’ve made this so hard TO love. Ya know wat I mean?

New visitor…maybe there is something up with your web browser, but on the sidebar there is a search box towards the top, the linked categories take you to all the posts in that category to date, and there is an archives drop down menu that has posts categorized by month. Can you tell me what your browser is so I can make sure there isn’t a formatting issue? Thanks!

The Internets are talking: This may be a “Here I Stand” outtake. Sad because this was the best leak thus far.

Yeah that would suck, because I haven’t liked anything else from his material. For some reason it seems Usher and Mariah moved away from working as much with Jermaine Dupri but songs like this and the “Hate u Remix” show me that it wasn’t a good move.

I remember before “Here I Stand” he was talking about this track. But, I could never find it anywhere. So, I know it has to be old. The song is cool. He need to give up on all these hot for now producers and stick with JD. Almost all his albums were excutively produced by JD and sprinkled production by other nice producers.

I understand when artist want to show growth and work with other producers but, we seen what happened to Genuwine, without Timbaland. Some people just work well with certain producers, they shouldn’t mess with the formula.
