Listen: Lil Wayne- Sweet Dreams featuring Nicki Minaj
Lil Wayne has released his highly anticipated and much talked about “No Ceilings” Mixtape (Click here to listen). I haven’t had the chance to check out the entire thing, but when I came across the song “Sweet Dreams” featuring Nicki Minaj I had to check it out. First I already love Beyonce’s “Sweet Dreams” so it started off on the right foot…then Nicki came on and totally killed it. I’ve heard a lot of back and forth from people…some saying they don’t get the hype, and others like me who are Team Nicki…but I don’t see how folks can listen to this and still say Nicki isn’t one of the hottest female rappers right now. I know people are too lazy to go back and listen to her “Beam Me Up Scotty” mixtape (Click here to listen), so this song sums up why Nicki has such a strong cult following. Nicki is the hottest female rapper in the game. She made this track listenable and enjoyable. Being that I am not a Beyonce fan and I can’t get into her music like that. One listen (if that) is enough for me. I’ll leave Bey to the fans, stans, and homos…but no straight dude better not bump Beyonce on the regular. LOL.
BTW, Lil Wayne’s No Ceilings Mixtape is hot! His free mixtape rapping over other ppl’s beats are better than all these corny rapper featured release (Fabalous anyone?). Every song in there is straight rapping…just what I need right about now.

i like nicki a lot better without a visual; in her videos she seems so contrived and fake, but when its just audio its easier to listen to what she’s actually saying and she totally kills it
A strong album will solidify her spot as a hot popular rapper. I know there are better female rappers out there, same way people claim there are better rappers than Jay-Z, that just don’t get shine. That’s why I said “popular” rapper.

as far as Nicki..i think she is extremely intelligent..she used a lil kim style to get on…being as explicit as she wanted to be..then get signed and does a 180.
I dnt think shes the hottest in the game. Or maybe she is by default cuz what female Mcs are out there now. I think she has her moments when I think she cool but most of the time its just annoying to me. Its like she sucks on a helium balloon before she spits.
