Upgrade or Downgrade: Watch Mariah Carey- Obsessed Remix featuring Gucci Mane
Mariah Carey has a remix version for her song “Obsessed Remix” featuring Gucci Mane. For some odd reason people love Gucci despite the fact that he has the dumbest lyrics and the simplest flow. I think he adds nothing to the song at all. It’s kinda funny that Mariah cleaned Gucci all up and put him in a nice crisp white suit, but that doesn’t disguise the fact they are one awkward pairing. I’m surprised to see Gucci get such a prominent role in the remix version and I think it downgrades the video because they have zero chemistry. Mariah looks uncomfortable laying on the table with Gucci wandering around in the background. With all that said it’s still hard for me to not like the song and the video is still watchable.

Total upgrade like someone said on the site last week, Gucci is my favorite worst rapper. I agree.
Their comes a point in a crappy movie that it gets so bad to watch that it turns into a great flick.

I loved Snakes on a Plane so I guess that should make me a Gucci fan huh? lol. Look I will admit that there is some charm in his crappiness but I still wouldn’t really expect that to translate into him being on MARIAH CAREY’S song. Ciara? Yes. Mariah? No.
I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again Gucci is the best wack rapper out right now. I accept him as just that and maybe thats why I like his music..because I’m kind of in on the gimmick so I’m not expecting too much. I’m not surprised that Mariah would have him on the song, she did a remix with ODB years and years ago, so its not too much different. However, the video did nothing for me..it was neither an upgrade or a downgrade. I still don’t like it, just like I dont’t care too much for the original video. Still love the song though.

Ya’ll are funny! I think ODB was far more entertaining than Gucci Mane but you are right Katherine she has worked with some offbeats before. I’ll give the song another listen and see if I still feel the same.
ooo and i hope gucci is smokin a cigar cause his tail def has drug charges and they just brought his butt in….shoot be better child for they surprise test his but and lock his ass up..drug court is no joke..i used to work for them..and man they used to be lining people up for surprise testing…

Anything with Gucci Mane or OJ Da Juiceman is an upgrade.

man comin from the south, i can’t help but to like Gucci. There are three things you gotta respect about Gucci:
1. He’s the realest rapper in the game. Everything he says he does is true.
2. You know what you’re gonna get from him every song. Don’t expect amazing word play or an awesome lyricist, expect a few funny metaphors and his same old R-rated content
3. He’s catchy as hell. “Burrr!” “Well damn!” “Chyeah!” All catchy phrases. All funny to hear
@Reecie, i didnt notice any lack of chemistry between MC and Gucci. The song doesn’t call for them to interact in a sexual way, and i think they both looked swagged(idc if its played out, i still say it haha) up in the white outfits. I liked them as a combo and would love to hear more mainstream stuff from Gucci.
This video brings two questions to mind:
1) Is Gucci beefin with Em here? Gucci’s my dude, but he can’t hang lyrically wth Em AT ALL
2) Does anyone in the game manage to fit more ice into one outfit than Gucci?

I prefer the remix video over the original one but like the original song over the remix…lol. I still think this would of been a lot better with Fabolous on it.
