RIP Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett

On this site I try to avoid becoming the crime pages and an obituary, but today is such a tragic day with the loss of two great artists that I couldn’t refrain from commenting.

Earlier this morning Farrah Fawcett died from her 2 year long battle with Cancer. Her struggle has been documented and her strength and determination to beat her sickness was admirable. She will be missed.

Perhaps even more shocking though is the out of nowhere illness of Michael Jackson. Reports swirled just hours ago that he was rushed to a hospital having suffered from cardiac arrest and now it has been confirmed by every credible media outlet that indeed passed away this afternoon.  I am so shocked and deeply saddened by this news. MJ was only 50 years old and on the verge of an international comeback. He will always be the King of Pop.

HM sends its condolences to the Fawcett and Jackson family.

How do you feel about these two great losses? What was your favorite Michael Jackson song?

My fav song: Rock with You

I’m an 80s baby so Michael was and is the biggest entertainer of my time.

    My Top MJ Songs:
    1) Rock With You
    2) Remember the Time
    3) PYT
    4) Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough
    5) The Way You Make Me Feel
    6) Smooth Criminal
    7) Never Can Say Goodbye (Jackson 5)

  1. He paved the way for many artists. Breaking barriers locally and internationally… He was truly a musical genius. His music is a testament of greatness. The king of pop will live in our hearts, souls and minds forever.

I used to watch reruns of Charlie Angel when I was longer. I don’t know why I was attracted to the show. It was way before my time, but I just watched it. That was my first introduction of Farrah Fawcett. I remember watching her on a celebrity roast and she had me laughing. Despite her condition I remember her on TV keeping a positive attitude and staying strong. R.I.P Farrah Fawcett.

Yo, I grew up in Nigeria and not only did we bump his music we watched his concert tapes and videos incessantly. Words cannot express his impact on history and music, and so many lives on a personal level straight up. I feel like this is our generations version of when Buddy Holly, The Big Bopper, And Richie Valens died. I love you Mike.

Michael Jackson is truly an historic figure. He is up there with Elvis, The Beatles of musician that truly changed the world. Today is a sad day in music and the world. He was only 50 years old. Words can’t do justice to express how sadden I am about this news.

Wow, is all I can say. Hopefully the family to these artist can get through this. I wish them the best. The day feels weird now. It’s hard to explain it. They both had an impact in my life in some way, I have a cousin named after Farah and Mike of course influences my music and writing whether I see it or not. Love.
