Silly Boy is NOT by Rihanna and Lady Gaga

Kanye West posted the song “Silly Boy” on his blog the other day claiming it was Rihanna featuring Lady Gaga. That “news” spread like wildfire and created many headlines that based on the lyrics Rihanna was dissing Chris Brown. There is just one issue with that story…it’s not Rihanna on the song and it’s not Lady Gaga on the song either. It never ceases to amaze me how uncritically things are “reported” on these days. This story made it to the NY Daily News, NBC, and other news outlets despite the fact that taking one good listen to the song would clearly show that neither of the singers are on the track. It’s unfortunate that in an effort for people to stir up controversy and make headlines simple fact checking goes undone. Extra TV actually caught up with Rihanna’s people and they stated it wasn’t her on the track…Lady Gaga issued her denial through Kanye’s blog. Apparently this is supposed to be a demo for a collaboration so there is a chance that Rihanna will take it and run with it. Until then…people should really cut out the hysterics. Listen to the song that created the buzz below via youtube.

What do you guys think of the media reporting this as Rihanna dissing Chris Brown when she is not even singing on the song? Do you think it is irresponsible for media outlets to create false headlines without basic fact checking?

    I wouldn’t say it was THAT irresponsible of the media for what they did. I mean it is known that she has been working with Kanye lately so I would think he was a pretty credible source if he’s the one who posted it.

    Not interested in the song…

    True but Kanye is not a journalist…and for journalists to make sensational claims without even fact checking is definitely wrong. It’s one thing to say “hey this is the new Rihanna song” and be wrong and another thing to say “Rihanna is blasting Chris Brown in her new song”.

  1. While the idea of a Rihanna-Lady Gaga duet is interesting to say the least. This song doea nothing for me. Lady Gaga is known as a writer for having interesting wordplay. And Rihanna is known for her great pop anthems. This song doesnt combine any of that. They should definitely do it..with a different song…and then have a serious fashion face off(kidding)

    I dont see how any media outlet could report this. It doesnt sound like either of the two artists. Did they even listen to the song?

    That doesnt even sound like Rihanna or Lady Gaga … The song isnt that good but the media is so desperate to find something else to talk about, theyd just post up anything without checking it out. Its their bad, they look like dumbasses.

    @t reecie: They have been reporting all sorts of different stories about Cb and Rihanna and i really do hope that they lay off of her butt i do not see it happening for now at all. Besides the pics, now they had two of CB’s back-up male dancers trying to slander Rihanna’s name. My one and only hope is that she keeps being strong and that all of this mess will pass over sooner than later.

    PS Am also very happy because even though CB wants Rihanna back, it seems has if she has moved on with her life, without him butt only time will tell!!!

    While am not a fan of lady Gaga it does kinda sound like her on this track and it also sounds like Katy Perry somewhat, but it doesnot sound like Rihanna at all. The song on the other hand sounds Kool and i think its something that would suite Rihanna’s sound!

  2. Lady Gaga has to be my favorite singer these days. She has a very good sense of fashion, a Mezzo Soprano voice and some freakin dance moves.

  3. lady gaga might not be a very beautiful singer but she can sing and dance well.

  4. Poker Face and Just Dance simple rocks! more power to Lady Gaga.

  5. Lady Gaga is da bomb. Poker Face and Starstruck are so cool to listen.

    i love the voice of Rihanna and her style of music. she is also a very sexy and beautiful singer just like Mariah Carey.

  6. {Lady Gaga, wow she?s hot these day!! Dreamed about seeing her naked?? Now you can!!! Just visit nakedladygaga . com to see full pages with her naked pictures!!}

  7. Lady Gaga’s music is amazing! I even arranged her songs for orchestra. It’s interesting how press will cover a story without backchecking it. But its sometimes difficult to do
