Cassie has a new song featuring The Dream called “Nobody But You”. This song is actually kinda nice. Cassie has zero range in her vocal abilities and her ability to emote, but she knows how to sound decent enough to not ruin a song completely. The one thing I always find off is that Cassie’s music totally lacks intensity. Her production always feels like it could use an extra umph and her voice always sounds a dull. You don’t have to be the best vocalist in the world to be able to sell a song and put some emotion into it. Cassie sounds the same whether she is talking about getting her heartbroken, falling in love, or playing hard to get. The Dream’s signature sounds didn’t sound quite as charming on here than usual and the sound would’ve been better if he had a verse. BUT…this song is 50 times better than “Must Be Love” so I guess I gotta give her a cool point for progress. I think a lot of people will begrudgingly like this. Listen Below:
