Watch: Brandy- Long Distance
Brandy has a new video for her song “Long Distance”. Brandy is looking pretty fabulous in this video…but I think she needs a fresher sound. All of the power ballads she has released border on cheesy. The plot behind the song is not something we hear everyday, but her delivery and the production is something I would expect from a much older adult contemporary artist. I’m sure this song will appeal to some people, but for her first single to have flopped so bad it doesn’t make sense that they didn’t switch up the sound and vibe at all.
What do you guys think of the video? Do you think Brandy should stick with the power ballads or switch it up to sound more youthful and current?

song is tight. the whole album is real nice, im really liking piano man. the rain drops at the end was a nice touch, elegantly shot, but enough with the fire circa usher’s burn. if you want the beats to be jumping and the content to be ghetto, then go listen to afrodisiac. human is more reminiscent of old school brandy full moon era. theres those ballads that made us all fall in with her. right here.departed was an amazing song.

see she did that uppish type ‘ish on Afrodesiac and people complained about it… point is Brandy dont care… she is making music she wants to make… for people who wanna hear it…
I’m loving me some Brandy and I can’t wait til her album drops. She does look wonderful in this video and even though I’m not on the whole power ballad tip right now I still have an appreciation for this song.
