Watch: Beyonce on Saturday Night Live

Beyonce hit up Saturday Night Live and did a hilarious skit and performed her two singles. For the skit, SNL spoofed her “Single Ladies” video. The real scene stealer was Justin Timberlake who wore a one piece dance suit and heels along with two other actors to play the backup dancers. The chunky dude had me rollin too. Beyonce could’ve shown a bit more personality and bad assness with her parts…but I don’t know if that was the direction she was given or her just doing her usual. At any rate…PURE COMEDY.

Watch Beyonce Perform ”If I Were A Boy”. There is no denying that she sounds incredible (aside from a few shaky moments)…but watching her made me think of how phenomenal she would be if she had that authenticity and soul of someone like Mary J. Blige. Beyonce is an excellent performer…but you can see that she is performing and not re-living the lyrics of her song. If this was Mary singing it she would be hopping up and down, kicking, screaming…and not because she is trying to put on a show but because she loses herself in her music. I’m not saying Beyonce has to do all that, but I think if she ever lets her guard down and let’s loose she will draw people in a much different and deeper way.

Watch Beyonce Perform ”Single Ladies”. You know this chick is in incredible shape to be dancing hella hard one second then belting out the song the next second. I’m sure I would have to be wheeled off in a stretcher if you put my ass on stage and told me to do all that lol. All of that is to say…HOT performance!

What do you guys think of the skit? Do you think Beyonce is authentic in her emotions when she performs? Could you outdance Beyonce? Who do you think would win a dance off- Beyonce, Janet, or Ciara? Who would win a dance/sing off?

I was not expecting JT to come out in a leotard….whatsoever…funny as hell. He played himself bigtime but it was funny. I wish Bee had more acting time…because she was funny. She killed both performances. SL was hot!!! and song LIVE!

    Pick Up I AM….SASHA FIERCE Nov. 18 - Tuesday!

Yo that skit was hilarious Justin is my Nigga, he killed it, that’s one of those moments where I was like this dude is gonna be remembered as a classic entertainer, I’m like this Nigga is really in a leotard right now, and he killed the weekend update. It took a presidential election but snl finally got good again. Also is it just me being a perv or did you find yourself staring at beyonce’s boobies the entire first set?

    Yeah we’re warmed up liked biscuits…dance biscuits…lmao

  1. One thing about Justin, that people sometimes sleep on is that he’s actually a great actor..I don’t know if that comes from being on the Mickey Mouse Club back in the day, where the cast basically had to do it all(sing, act, dance) but it’s something that he does equally as well. He’s hosted SNL a few times and has done several memorable skits. But this isn’t one of those skits that I found as hilarious as everyone else, maybe because it was kind of predictable once you already knew the basic plot..but it got a few laughs out of me.

You make a good point Reecie. Beyonce is basically performing the song with added head jerks and fans to make her hair blow for good measure..but that doesnt substitue for authentic emotion. At first I thought it was because she didnt really write the song and that it was hard for her to bring that emotion out..but then again Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis wrote No More Drama and Mary J. Blige makes me cry everytime I see her perform that song. But then again in my opinion Beyonce is almost always very controlled..in interviews, in photoshoots, and in performances. She never really breaks loose and goes off the record or shows raw human emotion like many artists do at some point..so maybe it’s just her..nonetheless she did sound great, but that extra added emotion would’ve made it an amazing performance.

Come on Reecie….a dance/sing off…lmao….Beyonce would win hands down. Ci Ci would give her a run for her money in the dancing dept but in the end, Bee owns both categories…lol.

I tried posting the link to Beyonce’s AOL session of IIWAB…..I think it’s only fair to say, Beyonce shouldn’t do that to her voice everytime she sings a song. I think there is a time and place for what you’re describing. Again try the AOL session….that’s her best IIWAB live performance so far….might as well check out SL…she murdered it also!

I agree about the personality part. It is not often you see Beyonce clowning around. I’m guessing behind the scenes B is a big goof ball. One thing I will say about Timberlake is that he is not afraid to put himself out there. He is like one of the biggest stars in the game, but is always clowning around. I don’t always get the jokes he is making, but I give him prop for having a sense of humor.

Katherine - After watching Alpha Dog I have to agree with you on Timberlake being a great actor. I also like the fact that is he playind different and challenging roles. His Ashton Kutcher and and Dick in the Box skits are memorable skits in my book.

Beyonce - Anything Beyonce do I will like. I can’t wait to check out her new album and despite the fact she plays a singer in pretty much all her movies I can’t wait to check out her next flick.

It’s kind of funny watching Timberlake and Beyonce together. These two rose to fame around the sametime and it’s been great watching them grow into the artists they are today.

Beyonce is having a great week with SNL and the TRL finale. She picked the right time to release her album.

JT is actually a pretty good actor…he was really good in Black Snake.

Stallion, you’re right…Beyonce picked a helluva time to come out with an album.

Denise…I know…the dance/sing off thing is a no brainer, but I still had to ask! lol

  2. We all know Beyonce would win in a sing/dance off. Even though I will say that I think Ciara and Janet are far superior dancers. However, Beyonce has the balance of having both a strong voice and strong dancing ability. But there is something very unique about each of those singers you listed.

Janet’s Janet..I really can’t say anything about her because she is Janet. She’s basically what nearly all R&B and pop female singers aspire to be..and that’s iconic.

And people sleep on Ciara lately, but she doesnt need to have a big voice for me. I understand that everyone isn’t going to sound the same and a softer voice can be just as appealing, if not more appealing than a stronger voice (ie. Ciara killed her version of “Supernatural” while Mary J. had an emotional disconnect with her version of the song) But she’s also someone who can ride slow jams really good. I think that’s where she should be focusing her attention. Songs like “Promise” and “Explode” are where she sounds the best…she could be the only female doing that style of music, which would make her stand out more. Unfortunately for Ciara, she’s getting overshawdowed quite a bit, but I think she has something good going if she sticks in that direction at least for her next single.

I can’t help but be amazed @ beyonce, and think like how can people hate on her she is freakin amazing…
    I think she sets the bar high.She never seems out of breathe. Yes she seems reserved when not on the stage, but in the business for 12yrs you know how to be..B;}
That doesn’t take away from other artists’ cuz their fabulous at what they do and the way they do it… B is the reigning champ..
