Tomorrow is the big day as the nation goes to the poll to select the next President of the United States (Go Obama!). In case you hadn’t yet realized just how serious people are taking this election and their right and duty to vote…check out these A-listers dropping and giving moral support to voters in Florida waiting up to 8 hours to vote! It’s so great to see how involved and enthusiastic people are from the first time voters up to the celebrities. Check it out…
Beyonce (rocking the shirt she designed for Obama’s Runway to Change Collection…I opted for the hotness that is the Diane Von Furstenberg bag but I digress)

Mary J. Blige

Jay-Z

Russell Simmons

On a side note…I had the pleasure and great honor of attending Barack Obama’s rally in Henderson, Nevada this weekend. It meant so much to me to be able to stand 50 feet away from the podium and hear who I believe will the be the next POTUS speak. Tomorrow is the big day…I’m more than confident that Obama will be triumphant but we all need to do our part and VOTE! If you have any questions about voting, then please go to Obama’s website Voteforchange.com
What do you guys think of these celebrities doing their part and getting people enthusiastic about Obama’s run? Isn’t it great to see these folks putting their celebrity to good use? Do you think Obama’s run has ushered in a new level of political activism from the Hip Hop community?

Tragedy struck the Obama today as Barack Obama’s grandmother passed away today at the age of 86 of cancer. I am deeply saddened by this news, since it is unbelievably sad that Toot (as Obama calls her) will not be able to see her grandson elected the first Black President of the United States and probably even more disturbing that Obama will not be able to share his biggest achievement with her. Toot was his last remaining parent and I’m sure she will be deeply missed. I offer my condolences to Obama’s family and I pray for his continued strength. Obama has brought us all so much hope yet I fear that this may be one of the darkest moments in his life. I just hope that he will be able to muster up the hope, faith, courage, and determination to plow through the next 24 hours because this country needs him now more than ever.
On another note I have to add that I am totally irate and disgusted with this Republican Party. They have been despicable every step of the way this election, but today was a new low in the race. In an effort to score a few cheap political points, today they filed a complaint with the FEC asserting that Obama broke the campaign finance law by making the trip. Even without the tragic news of Obama’s grandmother’s passing this complaint was in incredibly poor taste. Not having all of the information and erring on the side of basic DECENCY they should’ve just left it alone. But no…they are just such hateful mother f(*kers that they couldn’t resist one final low blow and had to attack Obama over the trip. With the news of Mrs. Dunham’s passing, the complaint looks even more disgusting and vile. Everyone knew that Mrs. Dunham was terminally ill and we all hoped for the very best. So the fact that Republican Party felt compelled to attack Obama over this visit (which by the way as the Washington Post reports the Obama campaign maintains was perfectly legally and had been thoroughly vetted by campaign lawyers) shows how heartless and in the gutter they are. Remember when you cast your vote on Tuesday what kind of party you are supporting and if you should give that kind of hateful behavior a nod of approval.

I agree Reecie. I stopped respecting Sarah Palin and John McCain and a large majority of the Republican party when they started running one of the most hateful and negative campaigns. I used to disagree with their policies respectfully, but now I just think they’re disgusting low life individuals…
I hope people go out and change the world tomorrow, this could be one of the greatest moments that any of us get to see. It really is once in a lifetime and I’m sure Toot will be watching Barack as he wins tomorrow.
I saw a pick of OBAMA crying and i felt really bad for him. I also felt bad about what happened to Jennifer Hudsons family. i know that God will be with both of them and their family in this time of need..
