Listen: TI- Dead and Gone featuring Justin Timberlake

TI has a new song called “Dead & Gone” featuring Justin Timberlakethat will appear on his new album. I’m really digging this track. TI sounds much more serious and somber about his life than some of the reckless bravado (i.e. “Hurt”) on a lot of his new material, which I think is an understandable shift. The production, Justin’s singing, and TI’s sped up flow all work well together to create a great song…I would be surprised if this didn’t become a single. Click here to listen

What do you guys think of this track? Do you think TI is going too commercial or watered down..or is the shift in music a natural extension of his personal growth?

I just love this song so much. If this album is successful maybe people might think you don’t have to be gangster to have a hit rap album. I’m feeling TI lyrics a lot. I think TI is a good guy and It’s a shame he had to learn the hard way before he wise up.

^Maybe TI should pull a Jay Z and mix up his sound from mainstream to underground. I think Lyrically he should probably stay away from the gangster talk, but you can still have a great album without being gangster.

When I heard Timberlake did another song with TI I was wondering if they could out do My Love and they didn’t disappoint. I heard Timberlake also produce this song.

i heard this song this morning, and i was ready to hate when i heard justin was featured on it…. but when i heard it i def was feeling it

i like the more introspective T.I. cuz as a suburban raised/college educated/corporate working fella its only so much gansta shit i can relate to/tolerate without becoming annoyed or bored

and i find myself listening more attently when his lyrics are about something—- but when its the run-of the-mill bang bang shoot em up, dope boy ish i find myself mainly just rocking to the beat

  1. I was ready to write T.I. off after the gun incident because I was mad he was getting more publicity for such a stupid stunt. While I doubt I’ll ever tune in to the MTV show, what I’ve heard from Paper Trail has been good. It’s cool to see the growth from RubberBand Man days. The new content is good. I don’t find this too mainstream, but I’d guess it is a reflection of where he was mentally when these songs were penned.

Yeah, me likey this one. T.I. definately has grown on me. He and Justin make good songs together. I would be surprised, yet wouldn’t be if they said they would make one of those Oh popular co-op albums. T.I, is really making me think hard about getting his album and I only buy about 0 to 1.045 albums a year.

I was ready to hate on Justin Timberlake too but the song is cool but I’m not feeling it more than ‘Live Your Life’. I hope his album does well too….

  2. yea.. from what I understood it’s supposed to be about reforming his ways and filming the community service portion of his sentence.

ddot – The track was produce by Timberlake. He also made the beat for that song he did with Talib.

Jamaican woman – LOL. I wouldn’t use the word idol, but Timberlake is in my top five list.

    My List

    Jay Z
    Kanye West
    Justin Timberlake
    Beyonce
    Talib Kweli.

    @ stall:
What about Rihanna, Ne-yo and Weezy???
Am sorry but beyonce is not all that she “portrays” herself to be. She is not a nice person and she is stuck up. I actually know some of her ex-friends, old classmates, neighbors, acquaintances, a woman who was a friend of the knowles and whose niece is related to Beyonce! Trust me, when I say she’s not a very nice person and she’s totally stuck up, point blank!!!! Most people here in Houston, aren’t crazy about her like the rest of the world! Because we actually know something about her.
Anyways enough of her, did you get Ne-yo’s new album yet???
    Hope you did or do.

I love that song and i’m really glad T.I finally learned his lesson this time but it’s a shame he has to go to prison first. i hope he will come back though he’s like the best rapper out there and i love him.
