Listen: Alicia Keys- Anotha Way To Die

Alicia Keys rocks it out for the theme song to the new James Bond movie called “Anotha Way To Die” featuring Jack White. You can barely tell this is Alicia except for at a few points, but I think it’s cool that she managed to switch up her soulful vocals and go for a totally different sound. For a James Bond theme it definitely works. As a sidebar: I like Madonna’s “Die Another Day” better than this. Click here to listen
Are you feeling this as a James Bond theme? What is your favorite movie them song of all time?

I heard they picked this song over an Amy Winehouse song. She was so mad about it that she plan to release her song the sametime they release this song to compete with Alicia Keys.

It’s nice to hear new music from Alicia Keys and this is a good song. it won’t go down as a classic, but I think this song is fun.

it was ok… not bad (but i think im a tad bit more excited to hear the amy winehouse bond theme, she said she would still release it to make the movie producers angry/regret letting her go, and for the fans to compare the 2 version, lol)

Is it just me or was there not enough contrast between jack and alicia’s voices… they sounded really similar, at times i forgot it was a duet

  1. Agree with the comments that its okay. I wasnt aware of the Amy Winehouse issue. It’s cool to hear what Alicia Keys sounds like when she moves into a different style like that.

Hmm favorite movie theme,I can talk about this all day. Even though I have still never sat through the full movie, I am a huge fan of the entire Waiting to Exhale soundtrack and to this day its my favorite soundtrack of all times.

After that, Reflection (sung by Christina Aguilera) from Mulan was great, and pretty much became my go to moody song. Not to discount any other Disney movie theme songs…they’re mostly great.

I’m also at the right age to have enjoyed Kiss from a Rose from Batman and I believe i Can fly/space jam/ and for you i will from Space Jam.

I also love “I dont want to miss a thing” although I’ve yet to sit through the full movie for that (noticing a trend?)

Then there is the corny side of me that likes Will Smith movie themes like WIld WIld West or Men in Black.

I’m sure Winehouse’s version is better but they probably didn’t pick her because they probably didn’t wanna take a gamble on her cracked out ass.

Favorite Movie Song – ‘We Be Clubbin’ Ice Cube -Player’s Club. Don’t hate you know that song was the shit. Nah but forreal, nothing’s better than ‘Sista’ from Color Purple.

I heard this song the other day and had to listen to it twice because I couldn’t figure out Alicia voice. The song was just okay for me then and still just okay now. Also the track music was too loud. I could barely hear them let alone make out the lyrics.

I’m sorry but I have to say this is not Bond Worthy..You have Garbage with The World is Not Enough, Madonna with Die Another Day…and did everyone forget!!! TINA TURNER GOLDEN EYE?…freakin classic!..this did not live up…in my eyes it will get play because of the names on the song ..not the music.
