Listen: Robin Thicke- The Sweetest Love

Robin Thicke has a new track called “Sweetest Love”. This is the kind of song that instantly puts a smile on your face. Not that Robin sounds like him, but I’m totally getting a classic Stevie Wonder love song vibe from this track. I love, love, love, love this! Simply beautiful. Click here to listen
Is Robin going to be even bigger and better with his new album?

shit is hot, he surprised us all with ‘Magic’
I’m feeling this
Feeling it. I’m sold on his new album. I’m glad his music is dumb down like everybody else. Hopefully his music will bring a little bit of balance into mainstream R&B.
Speaking of Robin Thicke. According to him the only reason Vibe magazine haven’t put him on their cover is because he is white. Eminem and Justin Timberlake are the last two white people that I’m aware of that been on the cover of Vibe.
Yea I read about the Vibe comment, and Vibe responded with saying that covers are reserved for when you reach a highlight in your career, before rattling off who’s been on their covers. I think they included Jeezy on the list, which made their point invalid imo. I think both Thicke and Vibe needed some better PR for the way their quotes came across.
This song is definitely on point and I can see it becoming a classic. I haven’t heard his whole album yet, but the two songs I have heard are both really good. I’ve been a fan since he was going by Thicke and riding his bike through Manhattan streets for videos. He does bits of experimentation, but always gives his fans a bit of what they love.
QUOTE FROM VIBE: “We have a great deal of respect for Robin Thicke and his music, and we remain flattered by his desire to be on a VIBE cover. A VIBE cover is a huge milestone in any artist’s career—recent cover stars include Young Jeezy, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent, Usher, Senator Barack Obama, Eminem, Lil Wayne, and Robert De Niro, to say nothing of our 15-year history. We wish Thicke the best, and we’re glad he discusses his thoughts on race and R&B in the new October 2008 issue of VIBE.”– Danyel Smith, Vice President & Editorial Director, Vibe Media Group / Editor-in-Chief, Vibe Magazine
I did read about the whole Vibe beef…I think Robin is great and all…but realistically he is not necessarily going to move units of Vibe Magazines. Robin makes top notch music, but is he selling out stadiums? Um no. So…it’s just about grabbing the targeted audiences attention. I think Raheem DeVaughn, Musiq, and Dwele make incredible music, but there isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that they will ever make it onto the cover.
Reecie – Good point. With the success of his last album which sold 1.3 million (at least I think that is how much he sold) I kind of considered him as a successful artist, but I guess he isn’t successful enough. Will someone please tell him he isn’t popular enough J/P.
On another note I didn’t realize Donnie from Making the Band released his solo album already. Kind of feel bad for that guy.
i think the reason vibe dissmissed the notion of robin thicke being on the cover of the october issue– really had nothin to do with race
and more about them wanting to pimp the hell out of a butt ass naked ciara on the cover and naked ass photospread on the inside (lol)
a hot naked girl will always trump pretty much anything/one (especially a marginally recognizable white guy) on a cover/moving magazine units
