9/11

Today marks the 7th anniversary of that fateful day 9/11/2001 that I think will be forever etched in the minds of every American. We should take a moment to remember those who lost their lives, whether they were innocent victims of the attacks or heroic officers who sacrificed their lives in order to save others. I would also like to make a note since I was unable to do so several weeks ago pointing out that 9/11 is not the only time where  thousands of lives were lost in recent history. August 29th of this year marked the 3rd anniversary of another American tragedy in Hurricane Katrina. The devastation wreaked by the Hurricane claimed over 1800 lives with 700 people missing. So…on this day let us remember that not only is it important to fight terrorism and secure this country, it is also our duty to do everything in our power to protect the lives of Americans from every threat this country faces.

Both incidences were tradgedies. I pray for the mental, physical, and economic recovery of the families in Jesus’ name. We had a moment of silence for 9/11 today at work during the time when the 1st plane hit.

I remember where I was when I heard the news. It was the start of third period and I was taking an art class. The vice Principal made an announcement about what happened thinking we all had the right to now what just happened. I will never forget that day.

  1. Everyone I know has a story connected with 9/11 and most people I know have an anger associated with Hurricane Katrina. It’s very troubling that worldwide incidents like terrorism and natural disasters take the lives of so many and change the lives of others on a daily basis. 9/11 had a personal effect on me and Katrina shaked my apathetic nature. May God be with everyone affected by both those tragedies.

^ Me too. God Bless each and everyone of them that lost love ones during those two horrible tragedies. Hurricane Katrina hit close to home here in Houston because most of the people evacuated here and a lot of them are still living here. Hearing their stories of what they went through from your own lips bought tears to my eyes. One Guy, even told me that he was on his house top for 2 days and that he still has nightmares about it! As we prepare for “hurricane ike” right now in Houston, I can only pray that we don’t go through half off what Louisiana etc went through during Katrina. Anyway’s gotta go now and finish preparing for this hurricane that’s supposed to hit Houston on Saturday. God Bless and take care. Please pray for Houston and the other countries in Texas at this time.
