Watch: Michelle Obama’s DNC Speech

Last night Michelle Obama delivered one of the most incredible speeches I have ever seen in a political forum as the headlining speaker of Day 1 of the Democratic National Convention. I have seen Michelle speak in person before so I already knew that she is a dynamic speaker…but there was something extra special about her speech last night. With all eyes on her, she rose to the occasionand showed what a phenomenal woman she is and why she would make such a wonderful and inspirational first lady. Her speech was brilliant, passionate, strong, humble, and relatable. She did an excellent job of reintroducing the country to the Obama family, reminding those of us who have been avid supporters why we adore them so much, and winning over undecideds.
I have never been more proud of being a Black woman than I was last night watching Michelle Obama speak with millions watching. She epitomizes everything that I strive for (a successful career but more importantly a loving husband and wonderful family) and she provides an uplifting image of the Black woman that counters everything else people have been taught to believe about us. She showed that strength and passion are not mutually exclusive to being loving and supportive. She is the American dream and I would be exceedingly proud to call her First Lady.
Did you watch the speech? How do you think she did? Do you think Michelle is an inspirational figure? How wonderful would it be to have a Michelle Obama as the new image of Black women in this country rather than the a$$ shaking hoochies in the music videos?

I can see myself looking back on this moment twenty years from now remembering watching the speech with my family. It was a great speech and a great moment.
I think it is silly and stupid to try and make a big deal out of that comment she made a lot time ago. Michelle Obama is not racist and anti America.
i think she gave an effective speech
i think she accomplished what she sought out to do
a. amp up her patriotism, to undo what fox news and the media has inaccurate portrayed her as
b. show her and barrack arent highly educated, wealthy, elitist— but just like regular people
c. show that she has endured many of the struggles that many americans face today
d. commonality and relatabilty; she a wife, mother, daughter, sister, etc
e. not just give a bio speech but hit on key issues of healthcare, economy, etc
with that said, she gave a great speech– some parts seemed a bit rehearsed but otherwise i think she knock down the image right winged media has painted her as
everyone was so quiet… when leach and pelosi spoke everyone was talking over them. haha.
awwwwwww you go girl.
b. show her and barrack arent highly educated, wealthy, elitist
umm, they are though.

i’m not voting for either of these crooks, they can’t solve your problems.
Vpell…first was it really necessary to put 3 comments about your dislike of the Obamas?
Second…that video you posted is a SMEAR ad, just like all of the other vile trash that McCain puts out. The fact that you would even watch that and think to share it already kills your credibility when it comes to politics.
Obama is not a crook by any means. He is an incredible man, loving father and husband, and he is going to make a remarkable president.
But…what does that stupid ass racist video or your totally unfounded accusation that Obama is a crook have to do with Michelle Obama’s speech? Not a damn thing. If you can’t recognize how monumental it was for Michelle Obama to stand on that stage and give that speech then you must be totally indifferent to the struggle that generations have endured just so that this country so this moment.
Who saw Hillary Clinton’s speech tonight? AMAZING!
I cried.
I follow no man, and that Ad wasn’t from McCain, and does a smear campaign kill credibility? It only kills credibility? It hasn’t done so in the last few centuries unless a person is using it as a means to direct attention away from the fact that he has no platform, but seeing as though this year the two platforms are apparently “Change”, and “I’m not black”, I think i’ll sit this disgusting election out.
It’s even worse when I see the ridiculous cult of personality Obama has going on, which is nothing but dangerous for any man, at one point Hitler’s intentions were good also, and he was also an incredible man, from a certain point of view.
Why do people put so much faith in politicians? I’m not seeing Obama doing anything that anyone else couldn’t, his race and speaking ability is the wild card though.
Also to clear it up, I refer to these politicians as crooks because they play on emotions for their ambitions, why would a person even WANT to become president if they weren’t willing to do this?
It was great that she was up there, but it doesn’t fix you or my problems now, or the ones that we’ll have in the future, if you think so you’re being a little naive.
^ can you find another blog site to write your trash on because your false accusations about the Obama’s is nothing but pure bs!!!
Ps: Michelle Obama’s speech was so “inspirational”. Perfect in every single way!
* VOTE OBAMA*
@t ryan:
I saw Hillary’s speech too and I would have to agree with you on this one. She did a really good job. I was proud of her.
@ ryan:
Her speech made me realize that she “was human” and yes full of compassion just like “Michelle Obama” !
Those two women made me very proud to be a woman. They are the perfect role models for women everywhere.
Vpell…here you go with these Hitler references. I hereby invoke Godwin’s law. I don’t find ANYTHING even remotely disgusting about this country being on the verge of electing the first Black president. I take tremendous pride in that and it means a great deal to millions of people in this country. If you find history being made, glass ceilings being shattered disgusting then there is something seriously wrong with that.
Anyway…I’ll have my commentary about Hill’s speech a little later.
That is NOT why I said it was disgusting. The best thing about Obama is that he might be the first black president of the USA, but that’s the problem as well, he needs to be better than that, right now I guarantee that once the fireworks are over, once the dust settles, and once people are jaded to his race, everyone will be complaining still. There’s only so much fixing ANY man can do in the next four years and it was apparent about a year ago that neither Clinton or Obama, or McCain could do it.
But you see what I mean by cult of personality? I keep making reference to Hitler because it’s an accurate reference. I mentioned a few problems I have with Obama and suddenly Jamaican Woman says that I’m writing trash or making false accusations, It’s not possible to you guys that he isn’t the Messiah, that he HAS erred? All you keep saying is “black president”. Even though he’s barely black, and done obvious pandering to the black community to gain its approval and acceptance (TUCC anyone?).
Obama has proven to be black, and a damn good speaker. This is why he made it past January, and I will remain cynical as hell, until after that 4 years are up and I’ve seen the result, hoping in some guys promises is stupid.
BTW, why did Obama waste his entire summer? He had a brilliant campaign against Hillary, and then he pointlessly started flip flopping, ran to Europe, and left fifty million attacks from McCain unanswered (which is exactly why McCain keeps using them and won’t stop at this point).

BTW, I have 50 of these for McCain also, which I use against people blindly following McCain. Please don’t think I care for either of these dudes.
