Sad News: Bernie Mac Has Passed Away
This morning news spread that one of the original Kings of Comedy, Bernie Mac has passed away at the age of 50. Here is a little more on the story:
“Actor/comedian Bernie Mac passed away this morning from complications due to pneumonia in a Chicago area hospital,” his publicist, Danica Smith, said in a statement from Los Angeles.
She said no other details were available and asked that his family’s privacy be respected.
The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body’s organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.”
Bernie Mac will be remembered as a legend and will be sorely missed. He is gone far too soon and my condolences go out to his family. To pay tribute to Bernie Mac’s great career, here is his performance “The Original Kings of Comedy”

I was very saddened at the news that Bernie Mac passed away this morning. I really think that he was one of our best comedians ever. I just loved his show,”the Bernie Mac Show” and will continue to watch it on re-runs.

He is definitely one of the best to have ever done it. I just finished watching his set from Kings of Comedy and man I was in tears laughing. His set was always my favorite one and man it is just tragic that he is gone.
I was sad to hear about the news. I think it is sad that his life was cut short. He was only 50 years old. I feel a great sadness. I know celebrity are just like us, but you kind of always picture people like Bernie Mac living forever. In away he will considering his art is timeless and his legacy as one of the original kings of comedy will live on forever.

Wow. This is so sad. It is a total shock. I don’t have much to say except that his family is in my prayers.
Man this has just been a sad weekend. It was Bernie Mac yesterday now I just heard that Issac Hayes died today.
