Sex & The City Day on HM- Who is Your Fav Character? What Are Your Movie Plans?

With the Friday release of the long awaited and much anticipated “Sex & The City”movie…I could not possibly be more excited! SATC isn’t just a cult classic, it’s a phenomenon. It was the first show to showcase women’s complexity, sexuality, friendships, relationships, and love for all things fabulous in such a bold, unapologetic, and unforgettable way. Every Sunday my sister and I (and later on my college roommates) would sit up on the couch with ours eye fixed on the tv for 30 minutes at 9 o’clock waiting for the next SATC adventure. If you dared to interrupt this sacred time, then you were bound to catch a mean side eye lol. We toasted to the series end several years ago over Cosmos…but now its time to toast to return of the wonderful characters we’ve all come to love and miss.
So…for all the Sex & The City fans…do you have any big Sex & The City plans?
I’m trying to convince some ladies to get dressed up in our fabulous/glamorous attire for the movie then hit a Hollywood hot spot afterwards…but so far people are being really lame! This is one of the times where I wish my sister didn’t live all the way across the country!
I must also ask…which SATC character do you relate to the most?
I would have to say I’m a mix between Charlotte, Miranda, and Carrie. I’m super blunt and pragmatic like Miranda…I can be pretty old-fashioned when it comes to dating like Charlotte…but I’d like to think that being a blog writer allows me to claim a little bit of Carrie.
My final question: Which character is your favorite?
Ladies don’t be shy…and fellas don’t come raining on our parade!

GIRRRRL. Samantha is my GIRL!!!
DR. - “Do you have sex?”
Samantha - “Yes”
D. - “Do you have oral sex? Give? Recieve?”
S. - “Yes. Yes. Yes.”
D. - “Do you have anal sex?”
S. - “Yes.”
D. - “Do you swallow?”
S. - “Only when suprised.”
Haha HAY GIRL HAY!
Me and my girls are getting FUCKED UP… then headed downtown San Francisco all dressed in our flyest fits and watching Sex & The City at the Metreon!
I’m excited!
Ryan I’m glad you are just as excited as I am! Samantha definitely has the most classic lines in all of SATC history…but the #1 classic line of all time is “He’s just not that into you”- Jack Berger
Reecie, that day ill be at work,or be at home, watching “stomp the yard” on repeat!
Ps: if u happen,to see my “future hus”
Ne-yo,just tell him I said to link me up on my email! lol

Ryan!
i have a feeling this movie will be a big let down. just a feeling. im not interested in watching it.
This is one of the few non music posts I can actually respond to (not a big reality tv fan). I’m a little too excited to watch this movie. Me and a couple of the female managers at my theater are building/teching it tomorrow morning, so I’ll definitely come in here and let ya’ll know if it was good or not (spoiler free of course).
Entourage > Sex & The City
HEY SHIRLEY I HEARD THAT THERE ARE MAJOR FLUKES IN THE MOVIE.
IE - boom-mikes GALORE. I heard they fucked this shit up in the editing room.
but it’s cool… those four whores are fabulous darling, TRANNIE-FIERCE
I plan on going to see the movie sometime tomorrow before the rush crowd comes in..I must say I was late to watching the show, but once I started I couldn’t stop..I still watch the episodes..since I have the series on DVD and will watch it to get some me time away from the man and baby….
As far as which character I feel I’m most like..I would have to say all…I always felt that the characters represented a characteristic in each woman whether she likes to put it out in the open or not..we all have our Carrie days, Miranda moments, Charlotte’s innocence and Samantha’s fire!
All in all, I can’t wait to see it!!! Put your Cosmo’s up ladies and toast!!!
O..and by the way..my favorite character is Samantha…she knows what she wants and she goes out and gets it..and thats cool with me!!
I’ve never been into SATC I guess because I could never get caught up. A close friend of mine has had me watching her season collection trying to catch up so I can see the movie with her. She has often compared me to Miranda (the red head?). I’m still excited about the movie. It should be good even though I didn’t watch the season…right?
GIRL IM SORRY, FLASHING LIGHTS THIRD VERSION JUST CAME OUT TODAY - CONNECTING I SUPPOSE THE LAST TWO!!!!!
Reecie, THE WHITE GRANDMA IN THIS VIDEO SINGING AT THE PIANO TO FLASHING LIGHTS WAS CRACKIN ME THE FUCK UP!
I never really watched (surprising since Im such a tv junkie and will watch the most awful shows) but Ive started going through the seasons online recently and think its cool Sadly I dont have any real movie plans, but Ill probably drag someone as a break from work.
I took an online test the other day tho: Im 50% Charlotte, 30% Miranda and 20% Carrie. I pretty much agree with that assessment.
I did a quiz and I am 30% Miranda, 30% Charlotte, 30% Samantha, and 10% Carrie…totally not what I was expecting lol. But anyway Fool’s Gold, I think you will like the movie even if you aren’t a die-hard fan.
Kita…I will toast with a Cosmo tomorrow even though I’m more of a Lemon Drop Martini myself.
Seen the movie yesterday as promised…and loved it!!! From beginning til end..if you were at SATC fan from the beginning..u will definitely appreciate what it has to offer..I think everything was well put together..from the directing to producing..and of course the fashion..they had some very nice clothes as always..Jennifer Hudson..or J Hud..whatever she wants to be called did pretty good too…i thought they could’ve done a better job on her make up..but her acting was great
anyway…if you saw the movie..what did you think??…I loved it!!
Reecie…as long as you’re toasting something…..its cool!!
Kita I saw the movie yesterday and I was soooooooo ecstatic with how wonderful it was! I knew it was going to be big when trying to buy tickets the day before they were sold out for the time I wanted all around the city. I met up with my cousin for drinks before the movie and the entire restaurant was filled with fabulous ladies waiting for the movie. Before the movie started a random chick yelled out “I’m so excited!” and everyone started cheering lol…so the energy and excitement was palpable.
The movie was amazing for a true SATC fan! It was a perfectly natural extension from the finale and it drew me back in and it is just the kind of movie that sucks you in emotionally. I couldn’t be happier with the product and even if they don’t do another movie, they have given us the ending that is so fitting.
But on a sidenote, Jennifer Hudson’s makeup/hair was not the business at all. She did a pretty good job, but she certainly wasn’t a scene stealer up against SJP. This role proved that she even though she was superb in Dreamgirls, she still has work to do before she can truly be a leading lady.
LMFAO Reecie!!! OMG Jennifer Hudson looked a mess in the movie! why did they do that to her?
Anyways she played her role well. The movie was well worth the wait! I actually cried on 3 parts of this movie!
I loved the movie and will likely see it 4 or 5 more times before i give it a rest!
I think in like half Miranda/ Half Charlotte….. i have the same smart mouth as Miranda– and then i can be a hopeless romantic like Charlotte…
Monique I almost cried at least 3 times myself (which is a lot for me). It’s funny how the movie starred 4 middle aged women whose skin looked flawless but you could see every bump on JHud’s face. They definitely didn’t know what do with a Black woman lol. But she still did a good job.
I will definitely be copping the DVD of this movie…it is one of those movies that you have to see several times before you can catch everything that happened. I would have to say I’m definitely more Miranda/Charlotte. I liked the basic message of the movie which is love is complicated and it can be messy. I was worried that it was going to have an anti-marriage message, but I think the point that ultimately came across is to do what is best for your relationship and not what society says is best.
Anyway…the movie was a love letter to the fans, and I’m glad it wasn’t watered down for the widest possible audience.
