Listen: Keri Hilson “Energy”
Keri Hilson has a new track called “Energy”. I remember a few months back (probably longer), I proclaimed her to be the next big R&B superstar, and with a song like this is it hard for me to back down from that statement. Keri has already established herself as a talented songwriter and solid guest artists…but this song should definitely be that break out song she needs for people to take notice. I think “Energy” is a smart move for a single, because songs like this (like “No Air”) are really getting a lot of airplay these days. The lyrics are excellent, Keri sounds great…and I hope that she comes out with a video that matches the song. I think this song accomplishes what Usher’s “Moving Mountains” falls a little short on in capturing the angst of a person trying to get through a relationship’s rough patch without sounding whiny or corny. I hope this is a hit for Keri…I would be shocked if it wasn’t. Click here to listen

Choose to sing a song,like “no air”,I wonder y?
People were saying her duet with Chris was better than “no air”,so y choose a song like that,has a single!
The answer is,plain and simple because Keri,herself recongnised what a big hit “no air” was and she is vieing for the same success with this song!
Anyways as for the song,itself,I actually like it.she sounds better on this one than her duet with Chris.I’ll give her another chance (not that she cares) and listen to what else she comes out with.
Ps: she looks completely different than in that Ursh video,more refined.

Fav song,out this year so far,next to Ne-yo “stop the world”.
When I first heard this… I didn’t like it. But all of a sudden all of the music blogs are posting this as a single… so I was like, damn, maybe I missed something?
Yeah, I gave it another listen with a different perspective and an open-mind.
I like it. I like this song when you fit it into the “Superhuman” imagery. It fits the style.
If I was her manager I’d stick that “Love In This Club”-extension back into her head, glam her up a bit. I think she’s beautiful, but she has to go towards that video-vixen look. I think the sassy-rihanna-bob is out of date. The extensions and sex-kitten image would fit her very well, along with that sweet non-dramatic voice.
As if Vivica Fox could sing almost.
I like it, a bit too repetitive though.
Refreshing.
8/10 stars. If she came a little more original, I could make it a 9… and if the video was amazing and she updated her swag, she could easily be a 10.

“Get It Girl” was trash. Timbaland produced that track… The Runners produced “Energy”.
Looks like Timbaland is drivin o’girl down before she even has a chance. She was crazy on his hooks for his album… all of those tracks were my favorites.

Man this is a great single and she is an excellent songrwriter!!!! She is banked up (Lohan, Brittany, Mary, Usher, Omarion…just to name a few). Songwriters makes the most money anyway on a song or cd!
