Hate it Or love It: Michelle Williams “We Break the Dawn”
Michelle Williams is releasing her first non-Gospel solo album and has a new track called “We Break the Dawn”. Man, this sh!t is hella corny (especially the T-Pain-esque singing towards the end). I give her credit for trying to switch the style up, but I’m not convinced that this is the right direction for her. We know she is not a good dancer, so to go for a dance track that she is not going to be able to really sell doesn’t make much sense. Oh well. Click here to listen

but i’m rooting for ol’ chelley not to get “kelly rowland’ed”, but i just dont see major success coming from this— she shouldve stuck with the Jesus praising, cuz at least the world dont boo gospel— ask an APOLLO audience.
and when did rag mags start breaking new singles for artists, i aint mad thought, thats that poppa knowles hustle—- well at least we know what demograph she’s shooting for considering people magazines core audience
Hmm… a dance hype might not be a bad switch for Michelle. SHE IS MOST DEFF. WORKING THAT HAIR! I never knew Michelle. I NEVER KNEW! At least she skipped that corny white-washed pop-esqe image Kelly had when she first came out with her solo career back in, what, 01, 02? Ha. Ew.
I like her new image - she just needs a hard-edge song to boost that shit! She is SOOO the underdog, and I’m kinda rooting for her! =]
The new look is definitely working for her…but the problem is her music lol.
I think it remains to be seen if she’ll get kelly rowland’ed lol…but considering that Michelle was always the awkward one in Destiny’s Child for her total lack of dancing skills and grace (remember her falling on 106 & Park? lol)…I doubt it. I’m all for rooting for the underdog…but even the underdog has to bring something to the table.

I LOVE ITTT!!!!!! its so new for her…and different…I applaud her for doing it…its not easy to bounce from gospel to pop…and I think she did a good try without being too CRAZY.

I’m from Australia and I really like this song. It has a nice energy to it and I keep listening to it. Beyonce is very good at over-selling her self, when she releases her stuff she just saturates the radio, tv, magazines or whatever. It comes across as if she gets what she wants because people have no where else to look! Michelle’s attempt is more gutsy than Kelly’s…Kelly has the talent but Michelle comes across as having her head still screwed on. Well done Michelle!
