So…as I mentioned last week or a few weeks ago, I’m going to be doing more open threads where you guys can post about whatever you want to post. If you just want to rant or rave about something going on in your life…that is cool. You can also write about anything entertainment…it’s all on you. The only RULE is don’t post anything that is not work safe.
I’ll start it off…I have to confess that I am totally in love with my new Iphone. Thehonorable has been trying to convince me to get one and to like it…and even though I was initially incredibly turned off by the price, I have warmed up to it. It’s so amazing having the internet in all its glory, a phone, and an Ipod all in one. I can be grooving to my music while surfing the net…get a phone call, and when it’s done automatically pick up right where I left off.
See…that wasn’t difficult. So let’s hear it HM fam…what is on your mind?

I just took a dump and out came two long logs. It’s because I’m tall. I’ve heard people in the past talking about floating logs. Uhmm… my logs, they didn’t float, they sank to the bottom. In fact, they made a stain on the inside of the toilet. I had to flush four times to get that stain out because I was embarassed. First I was amazed, then I was humored and then I was embarassed. Yeah, that’s about the right order. Anyway, how do you get your logs to float? I guess I have to eat marshmellows for a week and find out. I assume that’s how.
I ain’t been here in forever.
My b-day’s tomorrow, so I’m super excited. Able to work this summer!!!

To the first poster, you dont have long logs because your tall… its actually a good sign that they are long and not choppy, its a sign that your getting enough fiber in your diet, just make sure u get some good oils in your body to so those logs dont hurt when they come out and keep up the good work.
i think more black people who are financially stable need to adopt, and not the babies, the older ugly kids who get left in foster homes until they are 18. aight im done rantin for now.. ( THumbs up to this idea reecie)

Taurus…it sounds to me like maybe you haven’t heard his big speech on race which was actually pretty brutally honest about the state of race relations in this country. But anyway, just to clarify something for you:

He actually isn’t saying he will offer free education, he said he would offer a several thousand dollar tax credit for Education to students who do community service.
Drozy: Like you I love DK’s “Lights Out”. Their entire album is in heavy rotation…my fav tracks are: Bad Girl, Strip Tease, Key To My Heart, and Lights Out. A few other songs I’m digging right now are Usher “Love In the Club, Beyonce “Beautiful Nightmare”, and I almost hate to admit it but I really like that Boosie “Independent” and Bow Wow/Omarion “Girlfriend”. I haven’t really checked out much from Day 26 because Robert’s voice annoys me.
I’m bored at home because it’s a Friday during Spring Break and all I can do is do homework, check my music blogs, and MySpace. As for me, I’m currently feeling the effects of my 21 semester hours. I’m nervous/excited to go to my first psychology convention and present my work, but I would be lying if I didn’t say I was scared as hell. Good news is my birthday’s coming up after the convention, so I can relax (at least for that day).

When is the appropriate time to pay a deposit on a place? I’m currently looking for a place closer to my school, but my current lease isn’t up until July. I happen to find a place that won’t be available until July. The lady wanted me to come see the place, even though the current tenants are still living there. I toured the place, and it was ok - a lot of pros and a lot of cons. Then she turns and goes, “Well, are you signing the lease and paying your deposit today, because I have someone else coming later who’s gonna pay today.” I looked at her crazy as hell. This is the first time she’s mentioned paying - never in any of our emails or phonecalls.
I ended up just leaving. Everytime I’ve paid a deposit and signed a lease, I’ve received keys in return. I don’t think it’s right to pay on a place in March to move into in July.
Was I wrong?

As for me, Reecie’s post about America’s Best Dance Crew, so now I’m watching it on mtv.com, and I’m stuck wondering why I never tried to peep this show before. The moves are amazing fo’ real fo’ real. Kaba Modern def. should been in the Top 2 over Status Quo. But good look Jabbawockeez. Rightful winners won.
I’m going to a big keg party tonight so I’m happy about that. AFter working hard this all week I think I deserve it.

Ave…you usually have to put some sort of deposit down on an apt (maybe not the full security deposit) if you want to guarantee you will be able to rent it. However, you need to make sure that the deposit is refundable and I would even suggest trying to negotiate the amount of the deposit (maybe half up front, half when it is available). The thing with tenants moving out is that there is a possibility that they can change their minds…so that would leave you in a not so positive situation.
Ultimately, read the fine print of any deposit contract and don’t do anything you’re not comfortable with.
Stephanie…I don’t watch American Idol religously this go round…I think they intentionally picked the wackest Black folks this year so there wouldn’t be another Black person winning lol.

To all the spring breakers and partiers, hope you enjoyed yourself. I went out Friday and a pretty good time. There were some rowdy dudes arguing with the bouncers trying to get in so that made me a little nervous. In LA a situation like that can pop off into someone getting shot…so I was relieved that nothing went down.

Teedra Moses did a show it Atlanta, GA on Friday at Sugar Hill. We got there around 9 and the show was supposed to start at 9:30. Ms. Teedra didn’t bring her black @$$ on stage until 1am and was finished singing at 1:40am. Everyone was so pissed and the 40 minute show wasn’t even anything to talk about. I’m just glad it was free LoL.
