Watch & Comment: “We Are The Ones”- Another Star-Studded Barack Obama Tribute
Will.I.Am tapped a new group of celebrity friends to talk about why they are supporting Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign and set it to new music. This one doesn’t have the same emotional pull as “Yes We Can”, but it is fantastic to see how more and more people are jumping on board his campaign and starting to believe in his message. I think the most important thing to recognize is how people are using their voice. Less people are apathetic and standing silent on the sidelines and that is exactly what this country needs. “We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”
Appearing in the video are: Will.I.Am, Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington, Ryan Phillipe, George Lopez, John Leguizamo, Luis Guzman, Macy Gray, Tichina Arnold, Tyrese, Zoe Kravitz, Regina King, and many more. Check it out.
What do you guys think of this video? Some people have said that making a song about politics or a politician is creepy, but I have to challenge…is making a song about drugs, violence, hoe’n (for lack of a better term lol), etc. supposed to be better? Isn’t it great to hear people speaking out for a positive cause?

If these people are really passionate about this than who are we to judge. I’m sure there will be some angry people saying how come these people can shut up and entertain.
Biased Reccie, u just like it bc its about Obama. Its only “positive” bc u believe it is. Not that I dont agree, but check yourself.
Ya know what I think is funny? YES WE CAN!!! these politicians just put out their “key phrase” all over signs, and repeat it verbally and brainwash its followers. Its like a damn pep rally with these fools screamin this sh*t.
Yes we can? we can what? change? great, 6 years ago eveyone is all “yeahh bomb Iraq, lets kill these haters” So now in 2008 people want change, they thought that when we went into Irag it was gonna be like runing a few arounds around town, “bomb this, bomb that, shooth this, shoot that and we’re out” that wasnt what we signed up for. People, myself included, have short attention spans and love jumping on board with whats hot, and get tired of things easily and then just want to move on the the next thing. Well this situation, and many others being debated arent quick fix types of things that we can just be flip floppin on every time theres an election.
So did Zoe Kravitz do the dope fiend nod like she did in the new Hova vid? Damn Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet did a good job contributing their DNA to that wonderful creation. Too bad I’m not a fan of malt liquor or paparazzi cuz I’d be all over that. Early.
Oh yeah, go Obama! LOL.
Hope! © Barack Obama
One.
listen, listen, listen, FORGET ALL THAT!….. watch this! WATCH THIS!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VhO-OE931D4
Construda, I don’t need to check myself about anything. Your comment made no sense…”It’s only positive because you think it is. Not that I don’t agree.” Huh?
It’s only positive because I think it is? lol…So what is not positive about it? Is it a video telling people to go out and kill someone? F*ck hoes? No..it’s a video in support of a political candidate where people express their hope and optimism in his campaign…that is negative?
I can understand if you said the beat is wack, or you don’t like how Zoe sings…but a video like this can’t be anything but positive. That’s not a biased statement, that is a logical one.
Anyway, you’re entitled to snarky comments. If you don’t like “yes we can” you don’t have to repeat it or believe in it. That’s on you. There is nothing foolish about the people that do however (including myself). Anyone that gets “brainwashed” by a slogan is a moron, but that is not what is happening. It’s called getting INSPIRED. People are getting active about politics which is a great thing since that is the only way things will change in the country. Slogans have always been used as rallying cries. Have you ever heard “We shall overcome”? Were people marching for civil rights and getting hosed down and attacked by police dogs brainwashed? Of course not. But I bet there were people sitting at home on their ass talking about how stupid it was for people to believe “we shall overcome”. That is the problem with too many people…they believe that it is someone else’s job to believe in change, to hope, to sacrifice, and to do the work to make things better and anyone who doesn’t join them in their cynicism is just kidding themselves.
Yes people want change…who in their right mind wants another 8 years of division, fear-mongering, gridlock due to the 2 parties feuding and an idiot president? Is that what you want?
Anyway, I’ve had a long day and I don’t have the energy to continue. I will end with this, regardless of the naysayers I believe along with millions others…yes we can!
go reecie haha no but forreal, for all my spanish speaking peeps, theres this video on YouTube that’s kind of like the reggaeton version of “yes we can”. check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0dMxqgS1-8
Construda, what are you saying?
I’m personally tired of the divisiveness that exists in our political system. It’s about time we had some fresh ideas and accountability for mistakes. I voted for Obama, because I feel he’s the best candidate to bring about all of this. Like he’s said numerous times before, we continue to vote for the same people, but expect different results. Hopefully, Texas and Ohio won’t continue that dangerous pattern.
