Little Brother - Take On Me, Talib Kweli - Feel the Bass, Chauncey Black - Ride or Die, Robin Thicke - SOS Baby, Doe Boy Fresh, Huey - Pop Lock Drop It Remix, Mike Jones - My 64
Once again, all the HM contributors are extremely busy with our professional lives. Granted - we much rather blog than deal with the stresses of the real world, but we have priorities to handle. Rather than not posting during this busy time - thehonorable (and maybe Reecie and Thesis) will post random “quickies” of current music and gossip via other sites until things get back to normal. Please continue to comment and contribute to this site…
Phonte - Take On Me (listen)
Phonte on the vocals…not as Percy Miracles. Another banger from the Little Brother camp:
Phonte’s quote about the song:
And on a final note, I’d like to send a BIG shout out to Nicolay on his lost bet. Long story short, this nigga bet me that I couldn’t hit the high note in the chorus of me and Zo’s cover of “Take On Me” (which is available for download on our player). The loser of the bet had to treat the other’s family to Sunday dinner.
Talib Kweli - Feel the Bass (ft. Sa-Ra) (listen)
Chauncey Black - Ride or Die (ft. Young Buck and Rah Digga) (Produced by Sha Money XL) (listen)
Remember Chauncey Black from Blackstreet? I heard he was signed to Busta’s Flipmode Label.
Robin Thicke - SOS Baby (Produced by the Neptunes) (listen)
Mike Jones - My 64 (listen)
Huey - Pop Lock and Drop It (Remix) ft. Ebony Eyes and Kiddtrail (listen)
I saw this (video) on 106 and Park today…interesting….
I know this is old, but Three 6 Mafia’s Doe Boy Fresh (listen) is my shit right now…
Speaking of Three 6 Mafia, I think I may get suckered into coonery on Viacom’s stations with their Adventures of Hollyhood show.
This is NOT hip-hop. This is NOT hot. This is NOT Fly.

This is NOT Mims (read this great article about MIMS = Hot).
Oh yea…Pacific Division Giveaway winners will be announced this weekend.
Please comment on that dope Phonte track.

sos baby…glad robin didnt want that on his tracklist sounds too much like a jt reject from his justified days…sounds hot though
Phonte killed this shit. It takes a true music head to put aside that whole “I’m too hard for the industry” image that so many rappers cling on to, and do some shit that is straight musical. Phonte has never been one to give a damn what people think and I think this shit is HOT! This is why I have and will continue to be a fan of Little Brother and the music they make.
I’m one of the biggest Robin Thicke fans you’ll meet since his 1st album… which is why I don’t feel bad about ripping into this track. This joint is straight garbonzo. Thank god this didn’t make the album. Please post another Robin Thicke track just to make up for this one. haha… perhaps “To the Sky” or “Complicated”… or the one with Faith Evans.
Chauncey Black… again… I’m a huge fan, but damn… can he get on a good beat? Get away from Teddy Riley’s wack ass production (if this isn’t Teddy Riley production it still sounds like that “Wizzy Wow” garbage) please! He’s got such a fantastic voice — I would love to see him kill a ballad of some sort where he could flex the vocals.
ehh… didn’t feel like checking out the others. Someone inspire me to check out the others… are they worth listening to?
(i sound like such a hater right now with this post) haha
phenom22 - sorry about picking the worst tracks on the post. lol.
the phonte track is really good…the talib kweli track is dope, if you like talib. if you are not a fan of TK, then dont listen to it.
PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE ABOUT MIMS! CLASSIC! IT WILL NOT DISAPPOINT

That article was hilarious… thank you so much for that. haha
By the way, you guys need a comment wall on the side of the blog or something to just post random thoughts. And can you show Eliott Yamin’s Stargate produced jam some love?
thanks for the suggestions.
we had a comment wall…but i took it down back in the day because the RIAA was hot on HM and visitors were posting secrets on how to hack ODEO (haha - we have the best commentors!!
I will show that Elliot track some love this weekend. Thanks for the heads up!
Just a heads up for everyone…
Chauncey Black - Ride or Die (ft. Young Buck and Rah Digga) was ACTUALLY produced by Davel “Bo” McKenzie and NOT by Sha Money XL.
Unfortunately, this track was leaked on the internet as -Young Buck feat. Chauncey Black produced by Sha Money XL…
Just wanted to clarify this and give credit where credit is due. Chauncey has been working hard both in the studio and against industry politics to put together a phenomenal album, and we appreciate those of you who respect the talent and the grind of artists who work hard to create good music. We know its easy to download music for free, but if you like this track, show your support and get it for only .99cents on iTunes, or any other legit site.
