Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder, Nikki Flores - Suffocate, Keith Sweat and Keyshia Cole - Love You Better

Maroon 5 - Makes Me Wonder (listen)
Maroon 5 is the hybrid between funk and rock. These has to be some of the funkiest white boys since Average White Band and possibly, Teena Marie. While “Makes Me Wonder” isn’t “This Love,” it’s still refreshing to hear Maroon 5 funky guitar riffs over the rock electric guitars and drums. This will be a hit…and I am looking forward to their follow-up, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long.
Nikki Flores - Suffocate (Produced by Danja Hands and Written by The Clutch) (listen)
This track is interesting. What happens when you put the team behind Omarion’s “Icebox” with the 2007 version of Paula Deanda? Let me rephrase the question: What happens when you put the mastermind behind Timbaland’s pop-music takeover (Danja Hands) and the second most sought after songwriting team (Ne-Yo is the most sought-after) with Nikki Flores, projected to be to latin-pop R&B crossover in 2007? Well, you get a damn good song…The production could be more unique, but the songwriting and the vocal production is superb. Watch out for the Clutch and Danja
Keith Sweat and Keyshia Cole - Love You Better (listen)
I don’t know anything about this song. I doubt it’s new and I heard that it may be hard to find or possibly unreleased. But the song has a typical late 90s vibe with a stupid topic. Keith Sweat and Keyshia Cole are trying to convince each other to leave their spouse because they can love better. YAWN!!!

Superb? That’s being incredibly generous! lol. Nikki is cool…nice voice, pop not R&B though.
Keyshia Cole sounds great, but Keith Sweat is washed up. The song could’ve been hot had they not been talking about stealing someone else’s spouse (damn people find your own man/woman). It would be great to hear more of Keyshia Cole…she’s proven herself a great collaborator by single-handedly making “Last Night” a dope track.
WOW, I’m feelin this Maroon 5! I always enjoyed them for the simple fact their tracks stuck in my head (Kelly Clarkson, is another), but this track is actually damn funky. I hope Adam Levine continues to work outside this group because his voice is one of a kind.
Nikki Flores track is pretty good as well and I agree with you on Keyshia. I agree with Reecie that she definitely knows how to lay down vocals as a feature singer. She did it well on Jeezy’s album as well… Did I mention she showed up to my house party for NC A&T’s homecoming 2006? HOOD!
im not surprised that she showed up. lol.
glad nikki’s gettin some shine. check out her other song Pain Killer (prod by danja written by the clutch)
Yay! I’m so excited you posted and are showing some love for Nikki Flores! It’s funny you pegged her as a latin-pop singer. She’s about as latina as Christina Aguilera… in fact she even sings like a young Christina. This isn’t my favorite song of hers on the album, but it’s still solid. Blair gave a shot out to “Pain Killer” which i agree is hot and “Selfish” is the joint. “Can’t be Without You” has a great soulful sound as well — be on the look out for that one!
The Maroon 5 song will definitely be a big hit for them. I don’t like the way it starts, but once it gets going it’s a fantastic track — can’t wait for the rest of the album!
New Keith Sweat eh? I like how he hasn’t changed his sound in 20 years. That’s commitment! haha… Same ol’ Keith here with Keyshia Cole replacing Kut Klose. haha
OH yeah… and Nikki is nice on the keys too! Gotta respect that! Alicia, watch yo ass too!
LOL@Keith replacing Kut Klose!!! I forgot all about them!
I was wondering, Ive been searching high & low for so many months now. I know Keith Sweat either produced this song, Or was just featured on it. I thought it was Lorenzo Smith but its not. Then I heard it was a guy named Xino ot Zino. But It went like “Tryna Love to women aint the easest thing to do….” Does any one know who sings this song Or the title of it It came out in the early 90’s. If so please email me at brancorbel@earthlink.net or shybcorbel@yahoo.com. Thanks so much…
